Project Description:

Alinea Architects was approached by Healing House to design the renovation and addition to this existing house intended to become a recovery residence for women with substance use disorders who have children. The house includes six bedrooms on the upper two floors with shared amenities. The addition on the main floor created space to expand the existing kitchen and create a den specifically as a children's play room.

 

 The house is named honor of  Erin Langhofer, a young social worker who was senselessly and fatally shot in August of 2019. Erin's family created the Do Good for Erin Foundation (501c3) to continue to  support the Greater Kansas City Community in Erin's honor. Due to overwhelming support for this organization, Do Good for Erin was able to sponsor the house renovation.
